I first listened to the music and determined its musical references to different time periods, which I determined to be pop of the 60’s and 70’s. I then connected these influences to the visual cues that were common to that genre of music. Some of the visual cues included hand lettered typography, geometric elements, colorful compositions, and decorative flourishes. I used the visual cues of the historical influences of these eras and combined them with the artist’s personal style and personality, which can be seen in the color choices of the final design.
The outcome of this project had been a double sided seven inch vinyl jacket with an inner sleeve and a sticker on the vinyl all of which adhered to the branding of the album.
